480 YUG has covered around 2500 miles over the past twelve years with most of its mileage to and from various club events and rallies. The MG attended the flagship East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club Run from Hull to Bridlington, plus various other rallies and events before heading south to the Midlands a few years back then returning to Yorkshire.
Recent years have seen the MG exceptionally well maintained and during its time in the Midlands, the car was treated to some major mechanical work that included a full engine rebuild. The MG did not require any cosmetics, being a nicely aged restoration with beautiful bodywork, paint, chrome and lovely leather trim. Between 2016 and 2017 the engine was removed, stripped down and treated to new pistons, main bearings, conrod bearings, oil seals, rebuilt oil pump and top end rebuild. The MG was also treated to a new clutch kit, water pump, distributor, a new set of rebuilt SU carburettors and five new tyres and as a result is in excellent mechanical condition and ready to go as it was when we last supplied it.
In early 2020 the MG passed an MOT with no advisories at the first time of asking, it was also serviced and treated to a rebuilt dynamo. Invoices for maintenance and upkeep between 2020 and 2022 total £1500 with the car requiring no major work. This TF runs beautifully with a lovely sweet engine holding excellent oil pressure, the four speed gearbox is a delight to use with excellent syncro's, the car drives superbly with precise steering, excellent brakes and is ready to use, enjoy and take to more shows and rallies. With gorgeous paintwork, an excellent straight body, gleaming chrome, smart hood, sidescreens and a lovely upholstery, this is an MG to have lots of enjoyment from.
